Joe & Virginia Moran - Sunday School (Jr High)

Joe & Virginia Moran

Virginia Moran

I was born in Richmond, Virginia on November 3, 1947. We moved to Caroline, County when I was very young, and that's where I spent most of my growing up years. I was saved and baptized at Carmel Baptist Church. My husband Joe and I met at C. T. Smith high school in 1965. We were married two years later on March 10, 1967. In over 40 years of marriage we have had ups and downs like most people; but our greatest blessings are our three beautiful children, and eight wonderful grandchildren. I love to cook, shop, go to car shows, and I love game nights with the family.

Joe and I came to Heritage in 1996 and I think we knew right away this was the place for us. We are currently teaching the Teen Sunday school class, which is a tremendous challenge. We want to instill a Christian world view in the kids: To have them STAND UP FOR GOD, rather than fit in with the crowd.

Joe Moran

I was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, but the Fredericksburg area has been my home since I was four or five years old. Most of my schooling was in Spotsylvania County, although I finished the last half of my senior year and graduated from C. T. Smith in Caroline, County. During that time I lived with my aunt and uncle; two very strong Christians. Their Christian walk was really my first introduction to Christianity. They were not pushy but it seemed whenever you were around them, somehow the subject of Christ would come up. I know they prayed for me. Those prayers had a great influence on my life. Although it was many years later I finally did come to Christ, I thank them for their love and prayers.

Coming to Heritage was such a blessing for our family. Here we were able to watch and learn from so many mature Christians. We thank God for that privilege. Having the opportunity to teach the Teen Sunday school class is a joy and a big responsibility. Teens have so many pressures on them and we want to help them make wise decisions. We consider Proverbs 22:1 to be our class verse and often quote this verse in class. "A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches" We all make choices everyday, we want our kids to make those that are pleasing to God.

Where should I serve?

Prayer is vital. As you seek the Lord’s direction, he will give you wisdom to know where he wants you to fellowship. So, be sure to make prayer a priority each step along the way. If you’re not sure why it's important to find a church, check out what the Bible says about church attendance.

What are my beliefs?

It’s important to understand the doctrinal beliefs of any church before joining. Before joining be sure the church effectively teaches the Bible. At Heritage, we believe that every Scripture passage is inspired by God. Read more about our beliefs at "About Us - What We Believe."

What ministries are offered?

You want your church to be a place where you can connect with other believers. At Heritage, you will find a variety of ministries and programs for service, fellowship, and growth. Feel free to browse the "Ministries" section of our web site.
