Dock Hoilman - Youth Director

I'm living a dream... a dream with which God has blessed me... far beyond my own.
In 1990, Brenda and I were looking to settle at a church near Stafford that would be good for our family. We traveled to many nice churches with many nice people. Often the churches were greatly blessed, and in turn, were blessing families. Many times we found exactly what we felt we would like for our family church. As we prayed, we asked the Lord to lead us in HIS will. Eventually, as we searched, we found this friendly church in the valley. She wasn't the largest and, at the time, didn't have all the programs we desired, but she had God's people who made us feel at home. Most importantly, we found the Spirit of God and we found that He was leading us to the friendly church in the valley. The way God turns things upside down from the world's way of thinking still amazes me. In our mind we were looking for programs and to be served, but what we needed was the opportunity for US to serve. This is the dream... No, this is what is REAL... It's not how I can be served, but who and how I serve. I have that opportunity at Heritage. As the years have passed, we've been blessed by the Lord and by His people in more ways than we can recall. I thank my Lord for the ministry here at Heritage and I know that He is at work to enrich the lives of children and students every day.
