Jack Cook - Deacon

Jack Cook

I was born July 11, 1937 in Tague, West Virginia. I served three years in the United State Marine Corps then married my wife, Mary, on July 5, 1960, then moved east to Virginia. I have attended NOVA Community College, Mary Washington University and the University of Virginia. I retired from the Federal Government in 1984.

I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior on September 3, 1953. I was first ordained as a Deacon on October 15, 1967. In 1987 I joined Heritage Free Will Baptist Church and have served here as Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, Finance Committee Chairman, Director of Junior Church, Junior Boys Leader, Choir member and Coordinator of Homecoming activities.

I am thankful to be able to serve in whatever capacity God calls me.

Where should I serve?

Prayer is vital. As you seek the Lord’s direction, he will give you wisdom to know where he wants you to fellowship. So, be sure to make prayer a priority each step along the way. If you’re not sure why it's important to find a church, check out what the Bible says about church attendance.

What are my beliefs?

It’s important to understand the doctrinal beliefs of any church before joining. Before joining be sure the church effectively teaches the Bible. At Heritage, we believe that every Scripture passage is inspired by God. Read more about our beliefs at "About Us - What We Believe."

What ministries are offered?

You want your church to be a place where you can connect with other believers. At Heritage, you will find a variety of ministries and programs for service, fellowship, and growth. Feel free to browse the "Ministries" section of our web site.
